Monitoring of Generators for SA’s Largest Retailer

SK Technologies was referred to OFT Projects who is involved with Africa’s largest food retailers. This retail group operates more than 2,843 supermarkets in 15 countries serving 35 million customers across Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands The company is headquartered in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Its primary business is food retailing to consumers of all income levels with the goal of providing all communities in Africa with food and household items in a world-class shopping environment but at the lowest possible prices.

The project scope was to install Gateway controllers at all their stores in the Western Cape region to monitor the store generators for efficient genset maintenance, fleet management, asset tracking, remote/periodic genset testing, fuel management and fault analysis.

The installation entailed us installing a DSE890 gateway controller, setting up the gateway to the customers specific IP protocols and linking their devices to the DSE Web net portal where an account was created for them. From their they can access every site by name and process/control their data/machines.
